Dr. John Griggs has been in practice in Plastic Surgery since 1982.  His practice philosophy is to treat each individual with total honesty, dignity and compassion.  In fact, patients frequently remark that they have rarely been treated by a doctor who seems to care so much about their well-being.

Dr. Griggs graduated from Trinity College and Jefferson Medical College.  He completed a general surgery residency at Baystate Medical Center and then completed his Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Rochester.  He is Board Certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Griggs is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Fellow of The American College of Surgeons, Massachusetts Society of Plastic Surgeons, the AMA, the Massachusetts Medical Society, American Society of Hand Surgeons, and Hampden District Medical Society.

He is Chief of Plastic Surgery at Mercy Medical Center, where he also serves on the Board of Trustees.  He has also served as Chief of Surgery at Mercy.

Dr. Griggs has made 8 trips to third world countries to do missionary work in Plastic Surgery and serves as the Plastic Surgeon for health care for the homeless in Springfield.
